SKIGRAPHIE
I’m Jérémie Lagier, and I’ve been immersed in the world of Alpine Skiing since the age of two. Over the span of more than a decade, I actively participated in FIS, spending five years as part of the National team. During this time, I had the privilege of competing in various prestigious events, including the European Cup, World Junior Championship, World Pro Tour, and even the World Cup.
The concept of SkiOne Tour originated from a conversation with one of my former coaches. During my time racing in FIS events, the thrill of competition had diminished. My participation in races was solely driven by the desire to lower my FIS points for a better starting position in the next race. This routine persisted throughout the season, making the experience less enjoyable.
The conversation with my coach led to a realization that there should be a tour focused on racing purely for enjoyment and financial incentives. The sentiment was that without the element of prize money, the races lacked a certain excitement—akin to playing poker without any stakes. “It’s not fun.”
Today, I present a proposal to breathe new life into the world of skiing. The aim is to offer athletes the opportunity to sustain themselves through their sport by introducing diverse formats, attracting more fans, and emphasizing environmental responsibility. The proposed schedule aligns with the training season, creating a harmonious balance for both athletes and the sport itself.
